Volunteers Ike K., Chuck V., and Ingrid W. tackle the sometimes hard to follow Tamarack Trail to Tamarack Lake. Unmaintained, overgrown, and very steep, this trail offers solitude, stunning views, and lush mountain gardens but is definitely not recommended for beginners or the faint of heart. Wishing to spare our aging joints the brutal downhill of returning to the Glen Alpine ttrailhead via the Tamarack Trail, we hiked out on the PCT to the Echo Lakes trailhead instead.
