2011 Information:

The Eldorado National Forest is searching for a few  dedicated volunteers who enjoy working, and sharing their passion for the preservation of our wild lands. Please come to an informational meeting to learn more about Wilderness volunteer opportunities, what is required to become a volunteer and how your help is crucial to meeting our 10 year Wilderness stewardship challenge.

Volunteers work closely with Agency Wilderness Staff and can choose from a variety of project based resource management activities:  trail maintenance;  campsite restoration and monitoring;  visitor education;  interpretive programming and Wilderness permit office support.  Field projects involve hiking in moderate to difficult terrain and require a good level of physical fitness.  We ask our volunteers to make a minimum commitment of six days per season.
Are you up for the challenge?  If so, come join us for an opportunity to make a difference in the legacy we will pass on to our future generations.
